Starting to walk...

I was drawing my tattoo out this weekend (pictures further down) and I looked up and The Dude was cruising along next to couch using his sit n stand toy on wheels. It blew my mind. I immediately made him do it again and caught him on video. Now, he can't get enough of it. He's already a lightening fast crawler and this leap to assisted walking is awesome. I'm pretty stoked. But it's so weird to see my little peanut walking around. It's like, wait, dude. You can't even sit up on your own, how can you walk? Then I remember that he's almost 10 months old, not my little 10 week old bean anymore. Sad. But awesome. His 1st birthday will be here before I know it.

The second time he ever walked with it. Out of nowhere. Just stood up and went for it.

I love his little humping move to try to get it to go. Cutest thing I've ever seen.

My newest addition on my left forearm. The skull design was my idea. He cleaned up my drawing and made it better, but I heard him tell his girlfriend it was "pretty good." I was proud. Little things, dears. That's what keeps you happy.

Growing up

The Dude's growing up. Sigh.

I wish...

I wish I was a stay-at-home mom so I could look at this face, all day, everyday. I love The Dude.

On my way to be make-up artist/video assistant to shoot a video for Rose Funeral. Cool dudes. Cool experience. I hope I can help Clay on his next one.

This pretty girl is our house visitor til we can find her a forever home. If you know anyone who wants a beautiful, sweet 45 poundish dog, Layla is their dream. Please help us! 3 female dogs in one house=not fun.

He'll get to play all he wants.

The Dude will have a new toy.

Out of town, back in town, sick

We made our first trip out of town without The Dude in tow. John played a show in Atlanta and was going to use his skydiving voucher from his bachelor party. I decided to tag along because all those guys are my best friends, and after The Dude being sick and being in his very needy mama stage, it was some well-deserved time off. In short, the trip was fun. The show was great and all my guys survived their jump from 14,000 feet. (Secret: I missed The Dude like crazy.) I could tell everybody is getting old though when John, Alex and Tego all fell asleep at 9:30 on a Saturday in Atlanta. Lame.

Sunday felt like a race to get home so I could hold The Dude and of course, we ended up with a flat tire that delayed us 2 1/2 hours. That sucked. A lot. When I finally did see him, he snuggled right into my neck. It was perfect. I had cuddly dogs and a cuddly son who thought everything I did was the greatest thing ever.

Now, I'm sick. Cause I wasn't lame in Atlanta and I actually stayed up and got little sleep. Either that or The Dude gave me whatever he had a couple of weeks ago. I'm blaming it on him.

I had my labs done today, so we'll find out on Monday what's going on with me. Kidneys, cholesterol, thyroid. Whatever it is, I want to get it better and be healthy again.

Here's The Dude playing peek a boo (being the peek a booer). He was shirtless cause he was sick with a fever. (He really acts sick, huh. That's why it's so hard to tell when he's not feeling good. Happiest baby ever.)

Clay's skydiving video

Tego's skydiving video
(I'm still waiting on John's. Tego is supposed to upload it for us since we don't know how to do it)

And my life in pictures the last week:

9 months and 6 days old

The Dude is 9 months and 6 days old today. I only post this, because I didn't post on his actual birthday. Unfortunately he was still sick, although I'm pretty much positive all of his diarrhea (up to his neck and all down my husband's arm) was because he was teething. It took about 2 months for his first tooth to fully pop through. He spent Saturday with my mom, and literally overnight, another tooth popped through. It's almost fully through. Methinks that explains the explosive butt he had last week.

Also, I found out we have lead paint on our porch. That sucks.

Here's what doesn't suck:

If anyone thinks they don't look alike, I declare them legally blind. If anyone doesn't think this is adorable, I declare you insane.

This looked like a bassett hound before. Even though I prefer natural ears, I ate one into  a cropped ear shape. I think it's cuter than the long pony-tail ears. And it looks more like a pit. :)

But what a pretty boy!

Knocked. Out.

My new favorite hat. Til I order another one.

What. A. Ham.

Sicky baby

Poor dude. He's got a fever and last night had a mad case of diarrhea. The diarrhea has subsided, and the fever is slowly going down, but he's still really sluggish (sleeping ALL the time) and not eating much. I'm hoping he clears up and is well by tomorrow. We always go see the rest of the Stemmle bunch on Fridays, and I hate missing weeks. It's the only time that the cousins get to see each other. And really, The Dude's cousins love Stem more than anything, so they really just go for him. But grandma and the aunts love seeing The Dude.

I'm super stoked for my consignment shopping today. I have literally been doing a countdown until I can go there.

Besides The Dude's fever and consignment shopping, the only other thing happening in my life would be the awful root canal I had yesterday. Really. I could go my whole life without ever having to do anything like that again. Unfortunately, once my waiting period for my dental insurance is over, I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled. Also unfortunate is the fact that I didn't realize there was a waiting period for my dental insurance. It covers preventative, and fillings, but not root canals for another 6 months. So the most painful part of my root canal? The $1300 price tag. That, and the rubber dam they had in mouth to keep it open. For 2 1/2 hours. Awful. I almost choked a few times trying to swallow my spit. Anyone who knows me, knows that I literally go crazy when a part of my body is incapacitated (i.e. anxiety attack during labor after the epidural and waking up not being able to move my legs.- one day I'll get around to writing my birthing story on here.)

Anyway, here are some videos of The Dude to keep you company.
